Ray Mazey has a wealth of experience / knowledge in coaching and group managing beginners through to advanced riders. We fully appreciate all the issues that arise from this, and therefore group management / coaching plays a large part of your Leadership Training / Assessment.

Please remember. Being a first class mountain biker, maybe of little value to a total novice. We never underestimate the positive impact on a rider, that competant coaching / group management skills can bring.

The Level 1 & Level 2 courses are run together. The candidates & Instructor will decide after the training period which assessment the candidate will undergo; Level 1 or Level 2

The course has national accreditation with: The Association of British Cycle Coaches, Cyclist's Touring Club (C.T.C.), the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority (AALA), Learning Outside The Classroom Quality Badge (Lotc) and the NVQ Awarding Body (A.B.C.).

Candidates who wish to be assessed at Level 1 must be able to demonstrate basic off-road riding skills.

Candidates who wish to be assessed at Level 2 must be able to demonstrate strong off road riding skills including step drops (up to 1/2 metre), descending / braking in a controlled manner, effective climbing and pedalling techniques in rough / rocky terrain.
